Annette Bieker Actress
After some semesters of theatre science, publishing and medicine, Annette Bieker received a diverse education in acting/pantomime/physical theatre and singing with tutors such as Milan Sladek (Folkwang Essen), Oleg Kudriaschow (Gitis Moskau) and Ariane Mnouchkine (Theatre du Soleil, Paris).
Together with Frank Schulz, she founded the music theatre Kontra-Punkt in Berlin. She works as a director and actress for children and adults, mainly in the field of contemporary music theatre. The premieres are developed in cooperation with the National Opera Hannover and the members of the Bochum, Wuppertal and Düsseldorf Symphony orchestras.
Her first solo programme "Des Kaisers Nachtigall" (The Emperor's Nightingale) received numerous awards and was invited to many festivals.
The Goethe Institute invited the adaption of Kafka's "über das Käfern" (About the Bugging) to the Palestinian Theatre festival in Ramallah.
Since 1998, she has worked as a head organiser of the European Festival "6 Tage Oper" (6 Days Opera).
